French «band», and is usually made from the dense bonded fabric. The rigid lambrequin
was previously designed by the reputed furniture master Thomas Chippendale that
was then performed from the wood. The carved slab in the upper part of the
window was assigned to hide unattractive fasteners to build the unique
atmosphere soaring in the room. Today some designers still employ wooden lambrequins
in cottages or in country style interior at home, including the Old Russian and
classic British styles.
However, bandeau from fabric won the favorable positions in
the world. The fabric can match the blinds in the same shade and contrast in
color. Bandeau looks peculiar and solemnly when they are performed with rough
edges, unusual application and embroidery. The shape of the rigid lambrequin is
varied, from classic square to scrolls, floral bands or myth animals or mythic animals
protecting the upper edge of the window. Bandeau is especially favorable in

Soft lambrequin
The soft lambrequin, so popular and customary for private
