 Bedroom is the most intimate and closed room in your apartment.
Hence it’s twice as much important to make it comfortable and cozy place to
have a rest and to share precious moments with the dear ones. And the lights
can help a lot, creating suitable atmosphere, and tuning for sweet dreams when
one wants to relax and recharge, or inflaming passion and love by seductive and
sensual environment.
Using open self-sufficient sources of directed light in the
bedroom is never paid for it gives sharp shadows, smearing the whole image the
interior, and it is too bright. Multilevel illumination is much more advantageous.
It lets to easily pick up fitting light exposure for various situations. Bright
enough but at the same time subdued by frosted glass light of a chandelier would
be appropriate for morning preparations, while or soft diffused beams from
under a double ceiling would be ideal for romantic night.

Today you may choose
from great variety of all kinds of sconces, floor and night lamps as well as,
certainly, candles, using different combinations of light sources, getting new
views and accents.
Sconces and different kinds of wall lamps emitting mild and
cozy light would create a chamber and intimate aura in the room. Sconces can be
moved and this is why they are very convenient for highlighting separate zones.
You may place sconces traditionally over the bed, or use it to make up a
combination of a wall lamp and a dressing table, using different means of décor
like flowers and vases.
Enchanting effect can be reached by using sconces and
mirrors. Place two elegant sconces on each side of a massive mirror and add a
pair of identical vases in the same tonality with colors of the curtains and
coverlet. Dilute the composition with some natural flowers or immortelles,
figurines or scrimshaws to get the magic light-and-shade play.
A floor lamp is, probably, the most convenient way to light
the bedroom due to its independency, though, nowadays, it is a rare part of a bedroom
design.
Not to fall out of the picture and not to destroy the integrity
of the interior, choose the floor lamp in accordance with the main tonality of
the bedroom.
Night lamps usually give little light, but bear double load
in the bedroom design. At night it is irreplaceable as the light source,
especially for those who have to get up often at night, and at day time it
actively serves as the bright element of décor.
Fancy night lamps are able to add some trill even in the
most unpretentious interior.
One of such lamps is a glass flask with glycerin and wax,
illuminated from within. It is getting vivid as the lamp is heating up and wax
is melting, turning into enchanting forms, floating and dancing in glycerin.

Fountain-equipped lamp. Soothing and relaxing. Refreshes the
air, making it softer while its quiet murmur and soft beams of light playing in
the running water set your imagination free and tunes it into meditative mode.
Salt lamp. Soft diffused light boost up the feeling of
well-being and the radiated by the lamp negative ions have positive effect on
your health.
But what can be more romantic than candles, the most ancient
of lighting accessories? Dancing flame in the dark room, beams of light on the
walls, and scents in the air awake our instincts, hidden deep within, the
heredity of centuries, when all the most important things of life were
connected with fire: safety, well being and passions.
Here are some hints on how to choose and arrange candles. Chunky
and massive candles look best in front of a mirror or on a bedside table.
If you wish not only light but also fill your bedroom with
exotic aromas you may use either scented candles, or an aroma lamp (aroma
burner), designed especially for fans of natural essential oils. To warm up sensuality,
scents of sandal-wood tree, ylang-ylang, patchouli, orange and cinnamon would
be very assisting. But be careful and don’t try too hard, because instead of romantic
evening you may get a headache from smell abundance. Choosing scents is wholly
personal matter, and depends on taste of the owner and the time of day.
A great idea to put lots of candles all over the bedroom,
making it a mystical place to seduce and lure. But in this case let them be
simple and without scent.
Creating yours unique interior, you have to remember: style is
in details, but don’t overload the design. You have to decide yourself what is better
for you – coquette flowers and ribbons or strict geometric forms, but the chief
thing is – your bedroom is to be the reflection of your inner world and your
individuality!
