In the light of a variety and availability of glass items, glass ware is still appreciated by plenty people, especially when it comes to cut glass. The cut glass produces a long, lingering and musical tune when you put your finger at the cut-glass edge. So, in Japan the craftsmen make unique musical instruments. A crystal violin, completely transparent, is estimated for fifty thousand USD. Crystal glass tableware is not so much expensive though it is able to produce the charming, unique and so brittle music providing it is properly cared.
Wealthy persons are mostly known for their fortune only. However, despite they make billions, these people possess some personal features that attract people when estimating them. While Warren shovels up money, he has to do with quite conflicting image he created: he is known to be the proved miser and at the same time he privately donates huge amounts for charity purposes.
Mauboussin Jewelry
House of France established in the first half of the XIX century experienced
various problems. The Mauboussin House became one of the grandest houses in Paris, and thus, the
world, during this exciting Art Deco period. There were times when Mauboussin House
was out of favor and it was thought to lose its time. This Jewelry House never
belonged to any groups being the independent manufacture. The House was always stayed
in the family that founded it, and, thus, currently it is belonged to the sixth
generation of Mauboussin.
The roots
of the House go back to the year 1827, though the firm gained acclaim throughout
the world to the 1920's. Mr. Rocher established a small jewelry boutique on a
small Parisian street.
In forty
years, his collaborator, Mr. Jean Baptiste Noury, took over the business,
starting the family business that is dealt up to date by Jean's nephew, Georges
Mauboussin. His nephew spent lots of time working by his uncle and in the year
1922, the business was named «Mauboussin, Sucesseur de Noury», soon after it
was contracted to the short «Mau-boussin» by initiative of George, turning the
complicated name into the short and easily recognizable name.
That was
the time when George was assisted by his son Pierre and the nephew of Mr. Jean
Baptiste Noury, and then the jewelry dynasty put the pavement. In 1923, Georges
Mauboussin decided to expand the business and moved the business to 3 Rue de
Choiseul, to a far larger place, where there was more light, space and where he
could place more designers, renderers, diamond cutters, lapidaries, gold- and
platinum-smiths under one roof. Georges Mauboussin was an excellent jeweler and
a lucid businessman, and he perfectly realized that a larger room was not
enough; the best way was to get recognized around the world. Within just seven
years, between 1924 and 1931 the boutique participated in 18 expositions in New York, Rio De Milan, Paris,
Rio-de-Janeiro, Buenos Aires
and he opened branches in most of these important cities. Mr. Mauboussin was
also announced «Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur de la France» from 1929
to 1933.
Some of the
expositions were very unique and unusual for that time, while Mauboussin
Company just tried to draw attention to the beauty of the stones that were not
just diamonds. Thus, in 1928 there was a thematic exposition held devoted to
such amiable stones as emeralds and 280 jewels made in different years
presented the splendor and uniqueness of the stone. In 1930 the exposition of
rubies was held with 200
stones in a variety of compositions trimmed and matched
with various stones and metals. That exposition supported the restoration of
interest and concern in the precious stones that was lost due to plenty of
fakes. The third exposition held in 1931 was made to show diamonds.
Mauboussin jewelry
won the esteem too fast thanks to the unique technique Art Deco so actual that
time and used by the House jewelers. The most adventurous and courageous mixes
of various stones and crystals of the color gamut, with little trimming, plucky
mix of precious crystals, polychromes and complicated geometrical patterns,
play of light and color, matte stones cabochons of classic faceting, all were
used.
Greta Garbo
and Marlene Dietrich adored the Mauboussin House jewelry, and Marlene Dietrich
declared once that «the best stone for a blonde is an emerald» and featured in
one of movies wearing a bracelet made from emeralds cabochons by Mauboussin. Men
noticed the influence of jewelry manufactured by this House to the extent that when
Paulette Goddard got upset when she failed to get the role in «Gone With the
Wind» and got compensated with the Mauboussin bracelet with emeralds and
diamonds.
When Art
Deco style yielded its positions, the Mauboussin Jewelry House lost its clients
who ignored vivid and flamboyant jewelry but it did not give up. There are still
people who eager to have something unique and bright. And yet, fashion always
comes back, and the same is with jewelry. And this twist happens at the time making
Mauboussin jewelry again demanded. The new collections by Mauboussin for a
daily and evening wear look more dynamic, expressive and romantic at the same
time. Dramatic modern jewelry is not always something to be classic with
diamonds. Semi-precious stones come back again and it is their time now, as Mauboussin
jewelers suppose. Thus, the Mauboussin House goes its regular twist and we are
just supposed to expect new colorful jewelry to compete with the fantastic
jewelry by other reputed houses who try to meet the requirements of the
customers and the time.
Really exceptional jewels withstand the test of
time, and become more advantageous and sought after year by year, proving the
fact that is evident with the fine jewels as seen here by the house of Mauboussin.
Lingerie for women was just the plain underwear until the 20th century when it became the mean self-expression, as the subject of esthetic admiration. A piece of lingerie seen in between the women wear looked quite shocking to be shame and no one thought of designing luxury items based on lingerie, leaving alone works of art. Today every woman dreams of having a pair, or even more, of luxury and high quality lingerie to associate with sexuality, sensibility and attraction with male.
Today the knitwear is presented in so many styles and
it is so popular that no single autumn and spring collections can do without
hosiery. Knit
women's coats are offered in classic, sporty, romantic, vintage, casual and
ethnic styles. The demand for knit coats
grows in line with the more increasing range of color and texture of woolen
yarn as merino wool, angora, alpaca, Kashmir. Globally known brands launch knit
coats for women in their latest collections and most celebrities today appear
wearing knitwear for many occasions and that's hard to picture that some time
back it was something different.
First established in 1980, the brand by Carolina Herrera is one of the well-known fashion brands; collections by Carolina Herrera make a conquest for the public love and demand due to elegance and delicacy of the fashion wear models. The collections were successful, though Carolina Herrera opened its perfume line first in 1988 presenting Carolina Herrera for Women. Carolina Herrera 212 is known to be the bestseller first launched in 1997, and today this fragrance takes its niche among the most recognized perfumes of the world.
First established in 1860, Chopard is one of the reputed watch and jewelry houses producing incredibly beautiful, fascinating jewelry items and watches of dream. The house also launched a number of celebrated fragrances as Casmir, Wish, Madness and Infiniment. Despite the long and solid history of the brand, it appeared only recently in the market of fragrances with the first fragrance Chopard launched only in 1992. Six years later, in 1996, the Chopard House presented its Mira-Bai, the fragrance which is still in favor among women keen on oriental scents. Mira-Bai shows no intentions to compete with such a fashion-setter in the sphere of oriental compositions as Guerlain Shalimar, though the fragrance by Chopard takes its niche among the classic perfumes in the market of oriental perfume.
