 It is known that the Arab East is a delicate matter. Now we can name it
grand and chic. On the coast of the United Arab Emirates for several years,
literally from the sea foam appeared construction that is called eighth wonder
of the world. «The Palm
Jumeirah» is an artificial island, built along the coastline opposite Jumeirah
Dubai Internet City, 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
The government company Nakheel is in charge of the project. It the largest developer
specializing in construction of residential commercial real estate, as well as
hotels, shopping malls and recreation places.
The Palm Jumeirah is a symbolic project. The island is constructed in
the form of palm trees with dates that ale called «Arab bread». This unique
structure goes deep into the Persian Gulf. Its length 6.5 kilometers, and
width is approximately 5
kilometers. The whole island is so great and colorful that it is even determined
from the satellite.
The project started in 2001. Construction had to be completed in 5
years, however, due to unforeseen complications in the creation of final units
was delayed for another two years. According to the latest data, more than 30 hotels will welcome the
visitors by 2009.
The Palm Jumeirah is the world's largest artificial reef. While there
was the work on its erection, the lives of underwater near the island have
changed. There migrated
organisms that are the typical inhabitants of reefs valued by diving fans.
«The Palm Jumeirah» consists of three parts: «Crescent» (the Crescent),
«Krona» (the Crown) and «barrel» (the Trunk). «Crescent» has purely practical
functions as well as aesthetic ones. It protects the island from any external water
invasion that is not so dangerous actual because this water area is considered
one of the quietest. The windage the of the Crescent is more interesting
curiously as there are hotels of the most eminent hotel nets, made in different
national styles: Brazilian, Venetian, Japanese and others. «Kronu» is formed
with 17 branches, spread on the entire perimeter of the island. Each branch
separates the whole neighborhood. They set aside a place for the exclusive
villas of different format and design: Signature Villas, Garden Homes and Town
Homes. «Trunk» is this axis of the project, places where the parks, shopping
centers and restaurants are concentrated. However, multi-residential buildings
(Shorline Apartments) are erected there. You can buy apartments with
magnificent views of the Persian Gulf or placatory water canal running along
the center of the Trunk. Among
others pleasures of The Palm Jumeirah we should note wonderful amusement park styled
as the Atlantis and «floating» hotels built on board of a huge ship circulating
around the island.
«The Palm Jumeirah» is not separated from the continent. The natural and
synthetic (or rather, «trunk») shores are connected with a bridge 300 meters length. Those
who do not want to walk by foot will be able to ride the monorail-speed train
capable to receive 3 thousands of passengers. The developers created an underwater tunnel
with three lanes in each direction to move people from «Krony» to «Crescent» and back.
The Palm Jumeirah is the first
project of such magnitude. However, specialists forecast huge demand for real
estate over there. Despite the
fact that prices doubled since the start of construction, many famous people
have rushed to a buy some houses and apartments on the island.
The Signature Villas are the most luxurious. They are built in different
styles: classical European, Mediterranean, Arabic and modern. A large field, pool and other relevant
attributes complete each villa.
The smaller houses are called Garden Homes. They also performed in various
architectural styles. Town Homes are a 3- and 4-bedrooms or two-room apartments in Arabic style with
a swimming pool and bathing water. The more democratic apartments are Shoreline Apartments and Marina
Apartments.
These are 1-, 2- and 3-bed apartments and exclusive
penthouses with magnificent views on the bay and channel. There are all the necessary amenities in complexes
in which they are placed: fitness clubs, shops, children's playgrounds, beauty
salons, sports clubs.
