Indoor Fireplaces: The Warmth of Your Hearth

Fireplaces will always have a special allure. The vision of cozying up in front of a roaring fire, mug of hot chocolate in hand, while snow falls gently outside the window or sitting in front of a rippling fire while you and your beloved spend a romantic evening together are two appealing scenarios that may come to mind when thinking of a fireplace. You will definitely find one of your choice and that which suits your house decor and your life style perfectly well. Different people, even if they are successful enough to afford an indoor fireplace, have different business goals and aspirations in life, and their choice of fireplace often reflects their preferences. While some prefer a woodburning fireplace, others will opt for its gas counterpart. To one, an electric fireplace will seem fake lifeless, while another will be happy to watch sparkling fire playing.

Honey-based Masks

Sunday, 31 May 2009

Honey-based MasksHoney is a sweet fluid produced by honey bees which is derived from the nectar of flowers. And the thing from nectar of flowers can be the most delicious and nutrient substance ever created in the world.

A human, especially a woman, is like a flower, indeed. In spring and summer she blooms and she does not need to make efforts to look attractive and beautiful since nature works. And in winter season women loose a little bit of their beauty since the nature sleeps and who cares of us? Sure, we ourselves. Long winter time is a real stress for our skin and hair. Cold and windy weather make our skin dull and dry, and it easily gets inflamed and peeled. You want to go and rush for the expensive cosmetics making the dust fly? Wait a bit. Go to the kitchen and you will get the staff that rejuvenates your skin as successfully as the most effective and expensive cosmetics. Honey is the lode of vitamins and nutrients. It is often used in cosmetology purposes since honey masks are good for any age and any skin type. The only contraindication is allergy and enlarged blood vessels on your face. As well as bees use their stored honey as their source of energy in winter, we may do the same. Why not?

When making masks we use only natural honey and add other ingredients like lemon juice, egg yolk, glycerin, olive oil and so on. You need to cleanse your face before applying any mask. If you want to have a prominent effect, you'd better use these masks for a particular period, say 1-2 masks a week for a month. In two-three months you may want to repeat the course, if and when necessary.

Masks for Dry Skin

1. Mix equal parts of honey and olive oil until homogeneous consistence, heat on the water bath till 40°С. Take gauze cloths and soak them in the mixture, then apply to your face. In 20 minutes sop your face with paper tissue and wipe with ethyl-free lotion.

2. Mix 1 teaspoon of cottage cheese with 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of milk or yogurt. Stir all ingredients in a homogenous mass and apply to the face for half an hour. Wash off the mask with warm water and wipe the face with ethyl-free lotion.

3. Dip a piece of rye bread into 20 ml of hot milk. Then add 1 tablespoon of honey, 10 drops of Vitamin A oil solution and an egg yolk. Stir the ingredients thoroughly, apply the mask to the face and leave for 15-20 minutes, and then cleanse with warm water.

4. Mash a teaspoon of honey with a tablespoon of cream and a yolk. Apply the mask to the face, leave for 20 minutes and then cleanse with warm water.

5. Mix a tablespoon of honey and olive oil with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 ampoule of Vitamin E. Mix thoroughly, apply the mask to the face for 15-20 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

Masks for Greasy Skin

1. Mix a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of lemon juice, teaspoon milk with an egg white and grinded oat flakes for consistence. Cleanse the skin, apply the mask, leave it for 20 minutes, wash off with warm water and wipe the face with a slice of lemon.

2. To 1 tablespoon of honey add a tablespoon of oat flake flour and a sponge of an egg until you get the mass as a good sour cream. Apply to the face, leave for 20 minutes, wash your face with warm water and put some cream to the skin.

3. Take equal parts of dry lime tree blossom, chamomile and wallwort blossom. Put 1 tablespoon of the picking and pour in 1 glass of boiled water, heat on the water bath for 10 minutes, and leave for half an hour. Filter the broth and add 1 teaspoon of honey. Add some oat flake flour, apply to the face in thick layer and leave for 20 minutes. Then wash off the mask and rinse your face with cool water.

4. Mix 30g of honey with 2 egg whites, 0.5 teaspoon of almond oil and 2 tablespoon of oat flake flour. Apply to the face for 15 minutes, and then wash off the mask with warm water.

5. Take 1 teaspoon of honey, potato starch, warm milk and salt. Mix thoroughly, and then apply to the face with a cotton swab. Leave the mask for 20 minutes, then wash your face and wipe it with a piece of ice.

Masks for Ageing Skin

Stir 2 teaspoons of honey with 2 tablespoon of oat flakes. Add 1 tablespoon of strong black tea a 1 tablespoon of water into the mixture.  Mix well, heat on the water bath, leave to the room temperature and apply to the face for 15 minutes. Then wash off the mask with warm water.

Pencil Skirt: the Epitome of Elegance

Carine Roitfeld, the editor of French Vogue, once said that contemporary designers have forgotten how to design a perfect pencil skirt: it's either shorter or longer than its classic counterpart while the perfect length is at the knee or up to two inches below, but never above. Besides, the fit is almost never right, and wrong fit for your body looks funny and the wrong length make your legs look stubby.  Meanwhile, once you've found the perfect pencil skirt, you can forget about problems finding something to wear: in addition to being a wardrobe staple, a pencil skirt is an indispensable attribute of a lady that will form the basis for many different, yet elegant outfits.
