 Naomi Campbell along with Cindy Crawford and Claudia
Schiffer have been the most legendary and professional models of the previous
century. And they are still professionals in the modeling sphere. Naomi appears
to be one of the extravagant, brilliant and scandalous models as compared to
angel-like Claudia Schiffer.
Naomi was
born in Streatham, in London, England on May 22, 1970. Her mother,
Valerie Campbell, a former ballet dancer of Afro-Jamaican descent, parted with
Naomi’s Chinese Jamaican father, when pregnant. Naomi does not possess features
typical to any particular race. She has African, Chinese and Jamaican roots in
her blood and brought on the British land, and this blood played its role
creating the exuberant explosive mix.
With the extravagant and explosive temper, Naomi showed
herself to be self-confident girl who thought that everything should be the
same she wanted, and everybody should do what she planned. Her relationship
with her mother were at the edge of the balance, she often conflicted with her
contemporaries and friends when they were not agreed to what she did or said.
When Naomi’s mother married again, her father-in-law made
several attempts to bring his step-daughter to order but failed. At the age of 10,
she was accepted into the Italia Conti Academy stage school, where she studied
ballet.
By the age 14 Naomi tried to stay outdoors longer rather
than coming home and once, when she was strolling by the school yard, she was
noticed by the agent of the London branch of the Model Agency Elite who
persuaded the girl to try herself as a model. Campbell did it and she passed
the casting, definitely. Her effective look and exotic beauty facilitated her
prompt success in the professional sphere and by 1985 she was offered to arrive
to Paris for the photo session.
To achieve this, Naomi did wisely when she behaved herself
exemplary with the mother and father-in-law to persuade them let her go to
Paris. She agreed to use all her means to achieve the goals.
She was successful and good luck was next to her at the
time. In 1986 one of the most experienced dark-skin models was not able to
arrive for the photo session for the cover of «ELLE» magazine and Naomi was
offered to replace her. That was the milestone in her career. After that triumph
Naomi woke up famous. She was demanded. In 1989 her picture was published in the
legendary Vogue, and two years later she agreed to be the image for the
advertisement campaign by GUESS Company. When Naomi was included in the list of
50 The Most Beautiful People in the World as to the end of 1991, it just proved
the fact that she became one of the elite top-models in the fashion industry.
On the top of it, in 1994 the American Fashion Association acknowledged that she
is the best model on the Earth.
The pretentious success was absolutely triumphing and turned
the head of the arrogant beautiful model. Though she considered herself as the
best and the most beautiful woman on the planet, she failed in other artistic
spheres. All her cameo and secondary roles were accepted as untalented and the
musical single recorded in 1995 with the Japanese musician in Japan that was
popular just due to popularity of the local singer.
Moreover, the model is found to be arrogant and crude to the
maidservants and she has to get a therapy from unexpected anger. Though, the therapy
is not that effective since in 2008 Naomi attacks the airport employee who does
not flatter the model as it is appropriate. Naomi boasts in many interviews to
be the best top-model in the history in an open manner. Thus, in one of the interviews,
she considered that all models apart her from Claudia Schiffer to Linda
Evangelista refer to the category of «ordinary pale models». Considering that
in a few years she has to quit with her model life, Naomi acts actively
recently when she becomes the hero to TV reality shows, she participates in
charity actions together with Dalai Lama.
The personal life of Naomi is worth a whole book not an
article. Throughout her model life, her lovers and beloved men were Mike Tyson,
the dancer Hoakin Kortes, «U-2» musician Adam Kleyten, Eric Clapton, «Formula-1»
magnate Flavio Briator, Robert De Niro, the rapper Usher, the Prince of Monaco
Albert. At present Naomi has an affair with the Russian oligarch Vladislav
Doronin.
