Oriflame: Golden Flame of the Cosmetics Industry

Saturday, 20 March 2010

oriflameThe word «oriflame» translates as «golden flame». The flame, however, breathes chilly northern winds, because Oriflames Cosmetics comes from Sweden, noted for the harshness of both its climate and people. The company was founded in 1967 by the brothers Jonas af Jochnick and Robert af Jochnick. They wanted to create a cosmetics company that offered a kind of skincare that was different from what was available at the time: one that was based on natural ingredients and could be distributed directly to everyone's home.

Knowing that Swedish women were renowned throughout the world for their natural beauty, the founders set out to formulate skincare products based on natural ingredients from Scandinavia. So the first skin care range, Oriflame's Swedish Care, was born.

A year and a half after its opening, Oriflame Cosmetics has conquered all of Scandinavia, and for two decades it has kept its status of a leading direct sale cosmetics company in Europe, and also grew to present a competition to many internationally known brands. Today, Oriflame is one of the world's fastest growing cosmetics companies, with sales in 59 countries. Oriflame offers a complete range of high quality skincare, fragrances and color cosmetics, marketed through a sales force of over 2 million independent beauty consultants. Although the company has grown rapidly it never lost sight of it original business concept - natural Swedish cosmetics, sold from friend to friend.

Oriflame wants to bring out the natural beauty that everyone possesses, and develops the products to support this. The design of Oriflame's products follows a long tradition of Scandinavian design, characterized by understated elegance, clean lines, and the use of natural materials.

Time to reach customers in the Eastern Europe came only with the fall of the iron curtain in the early 90's when the company sales have increased by 5, and the brand became one of the fastest growing direct sales companies in the world. Thanks to the direct sales method, job opportunities had arisen for thousands of people and since 1990 80,000 cosmetics consultants have joined Oriflame worldwide.

In 2007, Oriflame celebrated its 40 year anniversary worldwide and today it is more prosperous than ever. Oriflame has more than 600 products in its portfolio, which are manufactured in Poland, India, Sweden and Russia, and each year the company distributes over 94 million catalogues in 35 languages.

The company's success and long-term growth allows it to help those who need it most. Oriflame is one of the founding members of the World Childhood Foundation (WCF), established by Queen Silvia of Sweden in 1999. Her aim is to ensure the right of each child to a peaceful and safe childhood and to improve the living conditions of those who are at risk. Over the course of five years Oriflame has contributed over 2 million Euros to a number of the Foundation's projects and, in addition, Oriflame supports various local charitable projects in countries where it has branch offices.

Research, new technology and strict testing are equally important. Oriflame has its own research and development centre in Dublin, Ireland. Known as the Global Technical Centre (GTC), it ensures that cosmetics are continuously improved and guarantees that no products contain an ingredient whose use would be in conflict with regulations in the European Union or the United States. Oriflame products are not tested on animals - if it is impossible to carry out tests with volunteers, in vitro tests are used.

The actual existence of Oriflame is based on the conviction that natural is better than artificial Oriflame believes in beauty as nature created it and it takes its inspiration from nature and the natural beauty of women. High-quality natural ingredients are carefully selected for cosmetics products, with the majority of this coming from the absolutely pure environment of Sweden or other Scandinavian areas above the polar circle. These areas are rich in diverse plants that must survive the harsh winter with just a small amount of sunlight. Due to this fact, they contain a large quantity of nutrients, vitamins, elements and antioxidants.

Oriflame's basic value is in its products - high-quality natural cosmetics. The company recognizes that to attain and maintain success, it is necessary to honour its original values and visions, but at the same time it is essential to continuously adapt its commercial strategy and habits to an ever changing world. Oriflame respects nature and its gifts, honours women's natural beauty and is proud of its Swedish heritage. As nature is the greatest source of inspiration for the company, it has always emphasized environmental protection and tries to avoid activities that have a negative impact on the environment. It shuns hazardous packaging materials, all materials it uses come from renewable resources, catalogues are printed on recycled or woodless paper and accessories comply with the demands of animal welfare activists - for example, they are not produced from leather or fur.

Oriflame cosmetics are specifically design to protect and enhance the face and body. Oriflame also now have a range of products for men to use including cleansers, moisturizers, and aftershaves. Oriflame also offer a great quality range of make up to subtly enhance the face or you can choose from a wide variety of colors for special occasions.

Today every woman dreams of having a pair, or even more, of luxury and high quality lingerie to associate with sexuality, sensibility and attraction with male.

Le'Eau D'Issey – Purity Sense

Perfume launched y the Japanese brands or the one inspired by the Japanese culture is something so special in the international market of perfume. Unlike the other fragrances produced in bulk, such perfume with the traces of Japanese inspiration and life surely exert attention and this is reasonable: it is not only the perfume to market and ear money but the whole philosophy, covert but absolute.
