Many-year fashion industries have undergone sea changes since the fashion seized minds and hearts of both genders. Present-day gentlemen sometimes pay more thorough attention to their outfit unlike women. Besides, every now and then they are better informed about fashion and latest trends. It is apparent that style can be quite a usual thing: in fact, from the great amount of menswear collections every man can gather up his own clothes according to his personal preferences and in the meantime considering the latest fashion trends.

The coat appears to be the essential attribute to the image of a real modern dandy. It is practical though extremely elegant outwear stylish for men of any ages. Men’s coat is a good garment to appear any style, from classic to casual, with suits and jeans.

Trousers are basic and essential item of any man's wardrobe. A gentleman, regardless of his style and age, should always have a choice of trousers, either in one style, or in a variety of styles to match various occasions which are appropriate for his lifestyle, career or leisure. Trousers trends are less changeable than trends for female clothing items, which are always more prone to transformation and change. Whatever trousers style a man chose, he must make sure that they fit perfectly, because there is nothing more ridiculous and absurd than a gentleman in baggy or tight trousers.  They totally ruin the overall impression and deprive a woman of a chance to see the Prince Charming hidden under this absurd garment.

A philosopher once said that history moves in circles. Another philosopher added that it moves in a spiral: one always returns to the preceding position, but on a higher level. Men's coats trends prove this assumption. If you watched The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, you remember the cape coat, donned by Mr. Holmes. Now, it's back! And a belted trench coat that Arthur Hastings wore ever so gracefully (Hugh Frazier)? It's back, too. What about the traditional gentleman's coat with a fur collar, preferred by Hercules Poirot (David Suchet)? It's in again.

Shirts is the most claimed item of the men’s wear though the choice of the right and appropriate shirt is not easy for a man, letting alone women. You’d better bear some hints on how to choose the right shirt in mind, the way it fits you or not and how to choose the shirts to suit the complexion and the entire image. Quality is the utmost factor in the shirt-seeking business.

Fashion trends change every season, including in menswear. While it is untrue that clothes make the man, a person's attire does make significant difference to him. The men fashion trends depend not only on the kind of social circle a man belongs to, but also on the environment he lives in. However, being fashionable does not mean buying all the designers' hottest items. In spring-summer 2010 fashion season, things are really looking up for fashion-conscious men, as new hot trends - such as addition of sport style elements and suits, reminiscent of the golden era of Hollywood glamour - will create a truly stylish and versatile wardrobe.

Why modern men need cufflinks, if they have buttons? This is not a matter of practicality, but style. Why do men buy diamond-studded cigarette lighters, if they can buy a plastic lighter or - if they are truly conservative - a box of matches? Probably, some men refuse to be reduced to that drab and miserable practicality, preferring to expand their options.

Ties make far more essential influence to the image of a man rather than the place it takes in the costume. Moreover, a tie is the most expressive details of the wardrobe that helps to appreciate the personality of a man. Therefore, throughout the history all men pay a great attention to this small element, from men of Kin Dynasty or Roman legionaries with neck kerchiefs to Louis XIV in his lacy jabot.

Men's socks are something very touching. A man can afford walking barefoot only when walking onto the beach or wearing sandals when going out in summer time only. In any other case a man should wear socks for every event, otherwise he will be believed to be a freaky person or just a normal person will be considered as weird, at least. Though, this is just the functional feature of socks, and here we have also the physiological matter. Socks are not revealed on the public, unless a man sits or crosses his legs. And here logically we can assume that this detail should not be paid so much attention. Nobody cares of your socks, man! And even knowing of the feature of factual invisibility of socks, a rare man would not think to match the socks with the costume, or mood or the kind of event he is going to attend. Socks many reflect the temper of the man on the whole, irrespective of his wishes of reveal the nature.

There is a place in the world when valiant men wear national skirts - kilts. Sometimes the word «kilt» is difficult to remember and it is then called a Scottish skirt. The kilts differ from the other kinds of skirts in the cutting and color. The classic kilt is done from the fabric of large checks on the red or blue background.

The men's waistcoats first were designed as the men's suit item, yet it was not called a waistcoat then.  In XVII the first original classic waistcoat was designed with long sleeves and rather long flaps as the undergarment to the suit for everyday use. Such suits were always seen in the wardrobe of the respected and noble gentleman in Europe. This undergarment was manufactured off the same fabric as the traditional suit. And only hundreds years later the waistcoat gets out of the sleeves and got shorter in length. It was no more practical garment to the suit; it became a separate garment that could be worn as the accessory item. And such luxury fabrics were offered for waistcoats as brocade, cashmere, velvet with buttons from precious gems.

Since the time of emancipation, women acquired the right to wear trousers which were the prerogative of men exclusively back in the early XX century. And why not men try skirts on? A skirt for men is not something new. Skirts for men have always been in fashion in most parts of the world, but not in northern Europe and North America, where fashion designers are trying to make them popular now. Look at real Scottish men. They look very brave and elegant in their kilts not at all absurd. In the South-East Asia men still wear sarongs, Indian men put on dhoti, and they know the advantages of skirts. Unlike trousers, the skirt is far more comfortable; it does not hinder movements and is merely made from one cloth of fabric.
