The Bride’s Bag

Sunday, 05 April 2009

bride bagNo one bride can do without these terrific details that so nicely and strikingly complement her wedding costume, at the same time hiding drawbacks and emphasizing  advantages as the bride's bag. Every such item is assigned to make a bride more styled, thus giving more positive emotions to her and may be more glamorizing her wedding day. Now we will have a talk about the bride's bag which is very likely the hot topic of discussions.

So, whether the bride needs a bag? This topic is under discussion at various forums, sites, at the wedding saloons... but no one brought to a single conclusion. So, we will consider all «pros» and «cons» in regards of this accessory.

«Pros»:

A bride can keep all accessories necessary for the ceremony like the main set of cosmetics (lipstick, rouge...), rings, and mobile telephone in such a tote. It is possible to do without the telephone, though at the wedding day the phones are ringing off the hook to congratulate on the wedding. Moreover, it is very easy and convenient to get connected with mom, or friend or toastmaster (underline as appropriate), to have the chance to cope with small organizational issues, and so forth.

By the way, do you happen to know that the Europeans do not operate the term «bride's bag»? When they talk about the similar item, then it is a desk bag. The bag that the bride does not have on her but leaves it at the festive table instead next to her and when necessary the bride takes it to the bathroom. Also there are special «bride rooms» at the places for celebration of weddings with such a bag. However, from practical point of view such use of a bride bag can cost you a «fortune». Just imagine, why the bag if it is left in a separate room and nobody sees it? (This particular conflict may be referred to the «against» list).

Many brides, now wives, share their experience on use of the bride bag. They say that they planned to have a honey moon or departure somewhere just after the wedding, and they kept all tickets and passports in the bag. Providing that you are in the close circumstance they advise that you do the same as them. It is much more reliable than to have them kept with others since they may get lost or you risk forgetting them finally.

And just to the topic it is worth saying that many brides find it convenient to charge the witness, moms, or friend to have everything on them. But... the tote is always under the hand, and them - are not! :) Therewith, they will have to seek for a bag to hide all this «stuff». As an option, you may put everything in the pocket of the husband-to-be though it is not so nice to celebrate such a splendid day with full pockets. Being aware of all these aspects, a bag is undoubtedly the best way out.

Also many ladies buy a bad in advance, considering the «upcoming» use of it not only for the wedding purpose but in the everyday life as an evening garment, for instance. And, if you are allowed to wear a wedding dress only for your wedding (for a wonder :)), then the wedding shoes, jewelry and a bag may be used later on. And the most important thing is that the debut with such a bag should take place at the wedding otherwise the effect of the «new item» will get lost.

«Cons»:

The first issue you face when seriously addressing «do I really need it?» is a price of the bag, certainly. If the bag is especially for the wedding, meaning that you do not intend to use it afterwards, rather from the wedding saloon, then this accessory will cost you a bomb. Though this item is more practical to buy at the wedding saloon since it goes with the shoes or a wedding gown to match, as a rule, and the wedding costume will look more styled and harmonic, the cost of this set is still too high for the average salary. However, on the other hand, following the ceremony you may want to sell it either pick up an option to match your wedding costume and the evening gown.

If you strictly want to wear accessories to match your wedding dress then you should be cautious and not to go too far. Too many accessories look too ridiculous and if you are close to the same situation you'd better quit the bag. Less is more than the risk to look as a Christmas tree.

A mobile telephone, some make-up, a mirror, the rings, and bear in your mind that you have to carry your tote for the whole day, therefore your hand, in particular your wrist (and this is the exact place to carry the bag) may easily get tired with it. And so many brides find a way out of this situation - they buy a bag to match the style of the witness or friend (the bag is especially bought to match the dress of the latter), and so she undertakes to «keep» «all necessities» of the bride.
