Grunge by Marc was accepted and perceived by the critics and the public more than with delight, while he was immediately dismissed from the conservative Perry Ellis with old traditions.

The designer now works for the brand Marc Jacobs and gradually transforms his rebellious spirit into the unique chic of megalopolis. The wear he creates is for bohemian bourgeoisie that combines the flourishing career with self-development, creative work and free life style. He makes things for the new race of megalopolises who grow to the point of intersection of hippy and yappy subcultures. Marc Jacobs becomes quieter in his expressions, and he presents collections that seized the world, and thus, Marc Jacobs strolls in the streets and seen in offices.

These sea changes could not just been neglected by the brand with 150 year old history. The Board Chairman of LVMH Bernard Arnault sent an invitation to Marc Jacobs to hold the vacancy of the creative director of Louis Vuitton House. As typical to him, as well as for Perry Ellis, Marc did not show off and worked modestly at his position. Soon after he differently interpreted Louis Vuitton brand and it was beneficial to him only.
