 In case if
the present age group cannot remember what the hoop skirts are, it is women's
undergarment worn in various periods to hold the skirt extended into a
fashionable shape. They were «a must have» for any woman of previous centuries.
As well as mini skirts found in the wardrobe of any young girl of our days. This
is the real and striking shift of vogue, though the trends look similar. People
tend to comfort, less fabric and more naked body. And beach wear proves this tendency
as the most outright fashion today.
It is a
funny stuff to know that three centuries ago a woman should have experienced
terrible inconveniences to go swimming. First, it took several hours to wear
all the outfit items. Second, dense underwear, stockings, a dress, a bodice,
boots and a cap were so ugly and uncomfortable, and the only requirement it met
was modesty, so characteristic to that time. Besides, the dress had a hem
specially made heavy not to swim over the water, which was quite problematic to
carry, you know.
That time, the
whole process of swimming was assumed to come into the water up to the knee
level and stroll to and there for a while. That was all swimming process. The
majority of women preferred staying on the bank and relax on benches under big
umbrellas. And only young and adventurous and naughty young ladies afforded
going into the water.
A bit later,
when swimming acquired new tendencies and directions, and ladies afforded
splashing around in the water, they had their bathing suits made a little bit
more comfortable. At least, they could get rid of a bodice and hoop skirts.
At some
time the swimming as the sport won the popularity, men preferred wearing cotton
trunks, for the swimming purpose only. It seemed very impudent, and the sport was
the only excuse.
Nevertheless,
a closed women's bathing suit appeared in 1880, still presented in a blouse and
knickers. By time, bathing suits became smaller in size. The police banned
wearing swimsuits shorter than traditional garments, though ideas of designers
were becoming more provocative for that time. The top of the swimsuit lost the
sleeves first, then knickers turned into the shorts. That was winning for the time
with conservative looks. Finally, the swimsuit was divided into two pieces,
which was presented in 1920; however, the first models appeared to look very
modest unlike the bathing suits of these days.
The first swimsuit
that appeared on French beaches in 1946 was designed by Louis Réard. The
bathing suit was named after Bikini Atoll in the Pacific, the place where the
Army of America tested nuclear weapons, a while before the display of the
swimming suit. Since that time the bikini has the same cut for a great option
of swimsuits, though they experiment with the style and fabric only.
Nevertheless,
having too little to show to and strike the audience, current designers manage
to show their skills and creativity when inventing bikini of our days. And it
is proved by the photo-gallery from the last show Swimwear Fashion, when they
finally stroke and surprised the public with their goods.
Now, it's the
very time to see what is in vogue in summer and what will attract the fashion
society. Beach Fashion 2009 has several brilliant trends for those who want to
be fashionable this summer.
1. Cut-Away
Bikini. This style with very complicated cut to reveal more naked skin is one
of the sexiest and unique fashion trends of the season. Women glamour of the West
bet that Cut-Away bikini will be as bandwagon and the sexiest swimsuit of ‘09.
2. Knitted Bikini.
Delicate, as if skillfully needle-laced bikini and tankini, will be in favor
this season. Three fashion trends are set for this summer.
First trend
show very tiny and extremely sexual one-lace bikini. The twist accent is the
contrasting color of the lace with the main fabric. Black swimsuits of needle-lace
are of special demand.
Second
trend is special for its knitted top with traditional laces. The swimsuits mainly
come in beige, coffee, chocolate and pale-pinky shades.
Third trend
shows monokini where the top and down of the swimsuit are put together with a
wide patterned band.
3. Bandeau
Striped Bikini Swimsuit. A classic bikini swimsuit is refreshed with a bandeau
top and vivacious color. Top has built-in soft cups and an optional halter
strap. Low-rise bottoms have high-cut legs. Bandeau can also be knitted. This is
the trend of 2009.
4. One-strap
Top Bikini. Tops with one strap only, where the top itself is a wide band,
plain, without vivid patterns and contrasting colors.

High-riding swimming trunks. Flashback to the'60s. Sad news - such bikini will look
elegant only to ideally shapely girls. As a rule, the top resembles traditional
underwire with straps or without.
The only
thing to remember is when you are wearing a bikini, it is pretty obvious that
you are trying to attract attention to your lovely body.
