Galvanization

Sunday, 28 June 2009

galvanizationHumans have an intimate relationship with electricity, to the point that it's virtually impossible to separate your life from it. Sure, you can flee from the world of crisscrossing power lines and live your life completely off the grid, but even at the loneliest corners of the world, electricity exists. If it's not lighting up the storm clouds overhead or crackling in a static spark at your fingertips, then it's moving through the human nervous system, animating the brain's will in every flourish, breath and unthinking heartbeat.

Once humans feel they are powerful enough to run the charged particle or electricity in favor of the latter, they are succeeded in growth of technology.

Electromagnetic emission, direct or alternating current are the tools widely exploited in all the industries where people can benefit. Though it might sound a bit shocking to innocent public, electricity is the thing far and wide used in medicine recently.

Galvanization is a high-efficient therapeutic technique when direct current of up to 80V and up to 50 milliampere is applied.

In 1771 an Italian physician and physicist discovered that the muscles of dead frogs twitched when struck by a spark and he was a pioneer in modern obstetrics, and discovered that muscle and nerve cells of humans produce electricity (animal electricity). Galvanization with application of medication is called electrophoresis. Galvanic current stimulates absorption of medication by the organism and facilitates its soft and effective activity in the organism.

Galvanization technique is frequently applied in treatment of the following disorders:

  • peripheral nervous system diseases, like plexitis, radiculitis, neuralgia
  • cerebral and spinal blood circulation disorders
  • vegetovascular dystonia and neurasthenia
  • trauma of various nature
  • gastrointestinal tract diseases (gastritis, colitis, cholecystitis, ulcers)
  • hypertension and hypotension
  • inflammatory process in tissues and organs
  • spinal column and joints diseases

Galvanization is in effective use in cosmetology to remove scars and treat alopecia of various types, seborrhea, neurodermatitis and vitiligo.

As a risky technique galvanization is not recommended in cases of acute inflammatory processes, of neoplasms or suspicious cases, blood diseases, fever, eczema and dermatitis at the place of electricity application. Pregnancy is an absolute contraindication for galvanization technique.

How the thing works

During the procedure the patient is to sit or lie still, avoid talking, reading or sleeping. Electrodes are put to the area of current exposure which are connected to various poles of the galvanization device. Electrode is a small electroconductive plate or a rod made from lead or carbon steel. Hydrophilous pad of 1 cm thick is put on the cleansed and degreased that is to protect the skin form electrolysis injury. Electrodes are thoroughly fixed onto the hydrophilous pad by the elastic bandage or bags with sands.

The client is not allowed to be under galvanization in case s/he gets asleep. Otherwise the device is turned off. The doctor regulates the time of exposure to the current that lasts from 6 to 30 minutes depending on the type of disease and age margin. Usually the entire course should be 10 to 20 procedures. As soon as the device is off, the patient should be left to relax for 20-30 minutes.

What is good about galvanization?

When the electric current passes through the skin of the human, various physical and chemical processes are triggered in the organism, such as electrolysis, polarization, diffusion and osmosis. The ration of ions changes in tissues and organs, thus altering functional capacity of all affected material.

Your nervous and endocrine systems will improve once you take some galvanization procedures, as well as secretory and motive functions of the digestive apparatus are normalized. A human gets more resistible to external negative factors, thus his immune system gets stronger, protective function of the skin improves, as well as protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Haemodynamics goes better with overall galvanization process and heart rate comes to norm.

Galvanization procedure is the strongest biostimulatant for the human organism. It influences both the total organism and its systems individually. Galvanization treatment is to normalize and remove diseased states and to prevent pre-mature ageing.

All told, electricity powers our world and our bodies.
