Adriana Lima – a Modest Supermodel

It seems that most top models from all over the world correspond to the particular stereotype and life style when their biography is examined. Supermodels are mainly too ambitious women with some delusions of grandeur, though. They aspire to exploit all their beauty and grace gifted by nature, youth when they are fifteen to twenty and the diligence to earn as much money as possible to become the idol for the weaker sex and the object of desire from the stronger sex.

See thru fashion

Sunday, 28 September 2008

see thru fashionContemporary woman is strong, self-sufficient, and independent... She has become so strong and independent that fashion trend setters, as if in conspiracy, chose to show a touching natural vulnerability of women. They came up with huge variety of clothes made of absolutely transparent materials.

All of us are familiar with raincoats and windbreakers made of transparent multicoloured plastic. Since they were introduced to the world of fashion in the fifties and early sixties, they have acquired new looks and quality thanks to high tech solutions and new features of manmade materials. They have become light, soft, breathable, easy to fold, and durable.

However, many leading designers did not limit their fantasy to commonplace plastic raincoats, but unleashed their creativity. As a result, there is a transparent version of everything in women's wardrobe, including such exotics as overalls (for example, in Dolce & Gabbana or Salvatore Ferragamo collection).

The core idea is simple: usual and familiar clothes become transparent (chiffon, organza, and capron are used). And transparency reveals additional, most unexpected features of customary things. Thus, a traditional shirt, transparent in modern fashion, has become an essential component of a woman's business suit and a real hit.

One can find such shirts in collections from Louis Vuitton, Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana, Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Celine and La Perla. In addition, rather wide colour palette is used: white, black, pink, beige, body-colour (it looks absolutely unreal as transparent body-coloured fabric can be hardly seen on the body), blue and scarlet.

It's clear that such blouses do not fit the strict dress code even if there are a lot of activities, when women do not have to cover themselves from head to toes in order to disguise every hint of sexuality. To look appropriate, a transparent blouse can be complemented with a light jacket. However, just imagine how feminine a flexible tanned back is in a see-through blouse... Besides, designers insist that such blouses should be worn without underwear, adding some pockets to cover the most controversial spots.

Similar effect is achieved by the use of sexy tops made of transparent fabrics, and they are numerous in the seasonal collections. Such tops can be worn either upon bare skin or upon underwear. However, considering the fact that the bra in this case can be easily seen by everybody, there are certain requirements to be met. And, as a rule, it must be of the same colour as a transparent top.

It must be said, that transparent blouses, tops and dresses are not a new word in the world of fashion. But this time designers have widened their horizons. A transparent jacket has become a true sensation. It is made of transparent but more dense material. This is a very interesting and elegant replacement for a classical jacket, a feminine fitted jacket, and even a tuxedo. Pretty radical at the first sight, it has proved to be cross functional. A transparent jacket looks well with narrow man style pants, jeans, a pencil mini skirt or an airy-fairy multilayer chiffon skirt, with shorts or a knitted turtle neck sweater.

Consider this: transparent fabric emphasizes all merits of undergarments on one hand, and on the other hand, it creates a specific halo of mystery and intrigue.

It appears to be true for other transparent items of clothing, like pants and skirts. Both, however, require perfect legs which are exposed for show. Transparent pants and skirts demand elastic mini shorts in matching colours for underwear.

And one more novelty of the season - transparent capes and wraps which are worn upon any garment. A figure gets wrapped in a zephirian transparent cloud, and it gives a young woman a very romantic and fairy look.

Thus, Jil Sander has absolutely transparent fabric (something between a bulky tunic and a cape) thrown upon an absolutely classical ultramarine trouser suit in her collection, and in BCBG Max Azria collection a transparent light black cloth is wrapped up around the thighs of the model forming a unique upper skirt and complementing a romantic pink silk dress. Leading designers of world fashion houses seem to enjoy playing with transparency, so they allowed this trend to flow smoothly into their fall/winter collections.

Corrective Lingerie – the Sculptor of your Shapes

The news is not the corrective lingerie with the effect to make the shapes tighter and slimmer. When considering the images of women back in XIX-XX centuries, we can state some peculiarities typical to the woman silhouette, like the high bosom, thin waist, rounded thighs (or just the skirt creating this false impression). Recollecting the canons of women beauty which were far from the skinny shapes of some mature women, we realize that a lady looked shapely in one area and slim in the other thanks to the special lingerie.

Tiny Luxury Evening Handbags

Evening handbag is the most elegant pattern of a woman handbag that stays tiny and traditionally decorative element. The evening or theater handbag is not a customary clutch though they look similar in size. The clutch grows to be the compliment to the daily business or casual ensemble as it is seen by the latest fashion tendencies 2010. The clutch is tiny and laconic when the evening handbag exerts the attention with plenty of decorative elements, embroidery and stresses. The fabric also matters.
