Kira Plastinina

Sunday, 07 September 2008

Kira PlastininaThere lived a little girl. She was not the most beautiful, the cleverest and or the most talented girl; just an ordinary one. She attended school, fell in love with boys, and getting bored during the classes, she drew sketches of dresses at the back of notebooks. At about fourteen she became the youngest designer in the world and exhibited her dresses at the Moscow Fashion Week. A year later, she did the same at the Rome AltaRoma AltaModa. Do you think this is a fairy tale? No, this is reality.

However, it is necessary to make a small clarification: the girl was not something ordinary. The school, where she studied, was not the ordinary one eithert, and the notebooks where she drew were hardly on sale nearby. The girl's name was Kira and her last name was Plastinina. And the whole point was in this.

The Plastinin family is very famous in Russia and abroad. The head of the family, Sergei Plastinin, among other things, is at the 157th position according to the Finance journal rating of Russian millionaires. If it dies not sound much, then here is a small footnote: Plastinin's capital, according to estimates, is worth of about 350 million pounds (almost 700 million dollars). He will be 40 years old in 2008 ... Sergei Plastinin is from a new generation of businessmen. He got his wealth from long and hard work, development and intelligence, and not from monopoly or taking a chance. He started with a youth experimental association "ISSA" and was the deputy director of Lionozovsky Dairy Factory. He has been rising since 2001. First, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods Ltd (WBD) and in less than a year, he became the chairman of the company board of directors. In 2004 he won the Person of the Year Annual National Award as the top manager of the year. He left in 2006 for another business but remained a "modest" shareholder of WBD. Sergei Arkadievich Plastilin acquired ABM Holding company, which manages Fashion Bazaar and Fresco fashion shops. The aim is to make the Holding become a major player in the fashion industry.

Anyone would easily agree that Plastinin have a supernatural business intuition as esperts constantly tell him: very soon, there would be a boom of native producers in the clothing industry. Plastinin decided to be the first here. But on whom can you entrust such special business if not on your relatives and close friends? And here comes Kira's drawings.

The family council decided that the child had a big design talent. The outcome of the family council was the emergence of a new youth brand Kira Plastinina. In 2006 a team of professionals was assembled for the brand promotion and creation of a network. After all, a child cannot do everything herself including sowing, inventing ideas, answering questions and managing the accounts department! Kira herself has repeatedly said she is a designer and not a businessman. She therefore hired professional tailors, designers, seamstresses and promoters- everyone who would facilitate her work. Kira is responsible for the direction and idea. Every other thing is the responsibility of the team. Only after Plastinina has set the direction, her team starts to work on the new models while constantly consulting with the chief designer.

In March 2007 the young designer officially launched her collections at the seventh pavilion of Expocentre. It took place in an adult way: there were models, podium, champagne, paparazzi and journalists. The guests were adults, mostly her dad's colleagues. Her adult life started after this: with gossips and envious people, with the purchase by local and visiting stars, with the need to correctly answer questions, be on tone and maintain the reputation of the brand. The dress from Kira Plastinina is a middleprice segment. Certainly, the young designer has admirers consisting of girls between 15 and 25 years old. Among the variety of her colourful collections, they can choose decent outfits for elite schools, fancy parties and outings with friends (for example, in Kurshavel). There are many tops, T-shirts and sports dresses. There are also skirts, trousers and good sitting jeans of several colours and styles. Shoes, handbags and other accessories are also in the collection. The company does not hide the fact that all the production is done in China. However, the materials (only natural) are purchased in Italy. All their items of high quality have undergone special processing without shrinkage and deformation. Kira Plastinina is of course not Haut couture and not at all prêt-à-porter. This is a mass production, the so-called mass-market without any "uniqueness" and "exclusiveness". The only exclusive is to wear the daughter of a millionaire's dress. Agree, it is expensive. So ... are you not a designer yet? And why so?

TEDDiE  - It's not really talent :(   |2008-12-23 05:49:17
Well just like she said her stuff is more for people over her age. You may think it is a Cinderella story, but do you honestly think that Cinderella would really wear shorts all the way up to her butt?? Or a mini that goes waaaaaaay above her thighs?? I just turned 15 and by looking at her designs we don't pay enout attention that it's ok to look cute and still have some respect for your body. She needs to design some clothes that covers up just a little more skin so it can appeal to a better crowd and mot the world of the SLUTS!! These are not rags that I would have my 16 yr old strutting in.. IT'S 2 COLD OUTSIDE!
Coco  - She's gone bankrupt.   |2009-01-22 09:26:19
Too much, too soon. Poor little rich girl.
Kiras Classmate  - Half Truth/Half BS   |2009-03-22 08:36:41
I attend the American International School in Moscow with Kira, and I know her quite well. I attended her 16th birthday party and of course because of her high status people have used her as a friend to get into the hottest clubs in Moscow, this was the case at her birthday. As she stood for pictures with her friends who would later go on to show them off to other friends she was simply putting on a smile as she was taught to do. She does not in fact design her own clothes, she has people who do that for her. Her father pays for everything from the seamstresses, the stores her sad excuse for clothes are put into, to the awards she receives domestically and internationally. Although she is a very nice girl, very shy, awkward, and not confident she has grown to think quite a lot of herself, of course getting rid of a nervous tick such as rapid non-stop blinking can do that to a young girls self-esteem. The truth of the matter is that her father left her when she was a young child and in order to make up for this, as most Russians nowadays do with their children, is pay her off with allowances of millions of dollars; Kira's happened to be a store and a name as a designer. Lesson of the story: get a daddy Warbucks and you can be famous as well.

This an example of girl with mediocre talent who has a famous daddy to make things extraordinary. I think the success of her line stands as an example of her talent: all her stores in the US are bankrupt.
Deni   |2010-01-25 00:43:49
What she has done, anyone can do with the amount of money that she has had access to. Many talented kids can do a lot better. Nothing extraordinary, I just wish the media was honest as to where her business came from instead of Marketing her as a talent. That's all it is, marketing.
Alex  - A TRUE Designer . . .   |2010-02-16 05:43:12
Man, If she can make her dream comes true at a age like this, I can too! I'm not saying that it will be easy cause it won't. It takes alot of hard work and alot to believe in yourself. I'm a singer and I wanna meet her one day. I wanna wear her clothes in my photo shoots and music videos and also open up my own fashion industry. Thank god for creating Kira Plastinina, the world's most talented designer in HISTORY!
Olga   |2010-04-27 01:24:21

This is just so unfair - but very common in our world unfoturnately - rich daddy means you do not need to have any talent. Every single girl went through a stage in lige drawing scetches and stuff...NO TALENT NEEDED! She has got nothing to offer! Her clothes just silly and stupid - nothing new..nothing fresh..nothing worth the money they're selling for!

Corrective Lingerie – the Sculptor of your Shapes

The news is not the corrective lingerie with the effect to make the shapes tighter and slimmer. When considering the images of women back in XIX-XX centuries, we can state some peculiarities typical to the woman silhouette, like the high bosom, thin waist, rounded thighs (or just the skirt creating this false impression). Recollecting the canons of women beauty which were far from the skinny shapes of some mature women, we realize that a lady looked shapely in one area and slim in the other thanks to the special lingerie.

Tiny Luxury Evening Handbags

Evening handbag is the most elegant pattern of a woman handbag that stays tiny and traditionally decorative element. The evening or theater handbag is not a customary clutch though they look similar in size. The clutch grows to be the compliment to the daily business or casual ensemble as it is seen by the latest fashion tendencies 2010. The clutch is tiny and laconic when the evening handbag exerts the attention with plenty of decorative elements, embroidery and stresses. The fabric also matters.
